AGRICULTURE PROGRAMMES
Welcome to Kisase Animal Farm's Agriculture Program, where we offer comprehensive solutions to support farmers in maximizing their agricultural productivity and sustainability. Our program is designed to provide farmers with the knowledge, resources, and support they need to succeed in modern agriculture practices.
Integrated Farming Program
CROPS: We work with smallholder farmers to enhance their knowledge and skills of crops such as maize, pigeon peas, pulses, beans and sunflowers including how to reduce post harvest losses.
FRUITES: The establishment of fruit orchards can provide long term incomes with reduced inputs, as well as enhancing the household diet. We are focusing on varieties of avocados, bananas, papayas and other local fruit.
VEGETABLES: By diversifying their farming activities and growing vegetables, farmers are able to improve their cash flow, economic resilience and food security. We specialise in growing tomatoes, peppers, chillies, green beans, cucumbers, onions and cabbages.
SOIL MANAGEMENT: Farmers are reliant on their land for their livelihoods and we share knowledge on how to improve soil fertility and prevent soil exhaustion.
- LIVESTOCK: Many farmers own livestock in the form of chickens, goats and cows. Looking after these valuable assets to ensure they work for the benefit of the farmer requires training in animal husbandry as well as being available to support emergency calls out
- MARKET LINKAGES: We are constantly seeking linkages between the farmers and markets outside of Babati so that farmers might gain new markets and improved selling prices and so increase their resilience.
